Arranging site items

Move, resize, and rotate page items independently for desktop, tablet, and mobile.

Use the arrange tool to fine-tune the position, size, and angle of individual items without asking the AI to rewrite a section. Arranging items is free, saves automatically, and can be customized independently for desktop, tablet, and mobile.

Arrange items for each device#

Start arranging, then choose the device size you want to adjust:

  1. In the site editor toolbar, click Move, resize & rotate elements.
  2. Choose Desktop, Tablet, or Mobile.
  3. Click a text item, image, button, or other page item. The blue outline shows exactly what will change. An image's frame, clipped background, overlay, or decorative shape is selected with it when they form one visual group.
  4. Drag the selection to move it, drag a corner handle to resize it, or drag the round handle outside the selection to rotate it. Hold Shift while moving to stay on one axis, or while rotating to snap to 15° steps.
  5. Nudge the selection with the arrow keys. Hold Shift for a bigger step, or press Esc to deselect.
  6. Click Done arranging when you are finished with that device size.
  7. Switch to another device size and repeat wherever the original layout needs a separate adjustment.

An adjustment applies only to the selected device size. While an item is selected, a blue dot on Desktop, Tablet, or Mobile shows that it has a custom arrangement for that size. Device sizes without a custom arrangement keep the site's original responsive layout.

Tip

Work from Desktop to Tablet to Mobile, checking the item at every size. A position that suits a wide screen may not suit a narrow one, so each size starts from the original responsive layout until you customize it.

Desktop, tablet, and mobile each cover a range of screen widths, not only the representative width shown in the editor. After a large adjustment, open the site preview and resize the browser within that range to check intermediate widths too.

Copy an arrangement to another device#

If the same placement is a useful starting point elsewhere, select the item and open Position. Choose Copy to desktop, Copy to tablet, or Copy to mobile, then switch to that device size and make any final adjustments.

Copying replaces that item's custom arrangement for the destination size. It does not change other page items.

Reset an arrangement#

Select an arranged item and use:

  • Reset this size to remove the custom arrangement for the device you are viewing.
  • Reset all sizes to remove that item's desktop, tablet, and mobile arrangements together.

After a reset, the item returns to its original responsive layout at the affected sizes. You can also use Undo and Redo to step through recent direct edits during the current editor session.

Note

The arrange tool fine-tunes items inside a section; it does not change how nearby content flows or reorder whole sections. Ask for structural changes, such as swapping columns or moving a section higher on the page, in site chat instead.
