Custom domains

Connect a domain you already own, or buy one without leaving Mr Create.

A custom domain gives your site a proper address of its own — yourbusiness.com instead of the free Mr Create address. You can connect a domain you already own, or buy a new one without leaving the app. Custom domains are part of the Plus and Pro plans — see plans & pricing.

Two things before you start: your site must be published first (the Custom domain section stays disabled until it is), and domain actions are reserved for the business owner — team members can't add or manage domains, even with publish access (see team & collaboration).

Connect a domain you already own#

Connecting a domain you own is free. You'll need access to your domain registrar (where you bought the domain) to update its DNS records.

  1. In the site editor, open the Publish popover and click Custom domain.

  2. Click Add a domain you own.

  3. In the dialog, on the Use My Domain tab, type your domain into the Your domain field — "mydomain.com" — and click Add.

  4. At your domain registrar, add the two DNS records the dialog shows (each has a copy button):

    Type Name Value
    A @ 76.76.21.21
    CNAME www cname.vercel-dns.com
  5. Back in the dialog, click Verify DNS Configuration.

If the records haven't taken effect yet you'll see "DNS not configured yet. Please update your DNS records and try again." — DNS changes can take a while to propagate, so just retry until you get "Domain verified and connected!". Until then, the domain shows a Pending DNS badge in the publish popover with a Configure DNS & verify link back to this dialog.

Buy a new domain#

  1. In the Custom domain section, click Buy a new domain.
  2. On the Purchase Domain tab, type a name under Search for a domain and search.
  3. If the result shows Available, review the price (for example "$12.99 / 1 year").
  4. Fill in the Registrant contact form — this is the legal owner of the domain, required by ICANN, so make sure it's accurate.
  5. Click Purchase & Connect and pay through secure checkout powered by Stripe.

After payment you're returned to the editor with "Payment received — connecting your domain…". Registration and setup finish on their own — the domain shows "Purchasing…" and then flips to Connected, with a toast when it's done. No DNS steps are needed for purchased domains. Domains are registered for one year, and the price shown at search time is what you pay.

Only one checkout can be open for a site at a time. If you click Purchase & Connect again for the same domain, Mr Create safely returns you to that checkout instead of creating a second charge. If you're replacing a connected domain, the current domain keeps serving your site until the new one is fully registered and connected.

Note

If registration fails after payment, you're refunded automatically — the status will say so, for example "Domain registration failed — your payment has been fully refunded." If anything needs a human touch, the message will tell you the team has been notified.

Good to know#

  • Your free Mr Create address keeps working alongside the custom domain; both serve the same site.
  • Each site can have one custom domain. Adding a different one replaces the current one after the new domain is ready — there's no standalone remove button.
  • Deleting the site (or the business) first cancels any unpaid domain checkout. If payment, registration, or a refund is still processing, deletion is paused until that work settles so a charge or refund can never be lost.
  • Deleting disconnects the active custom domain. If you bought the domain through Mr Create and want to use it with another site, contact support before deleting the original site so the purchased-domain record can be moved safely.
  • A domain can only be connected to one Mr Create site at a time.
  • HTTPS is automatic — certificates are set up for you, with nothing to configure.
