Editing your site
Use chat, annotations, and direct text and image edits to refine your site.
Once your site is ready, it opens in a split editor: a chat thread on the left for asking the AI to make changes, and a live canvas on the right where you can edit things yourself. On a phone, use the Chat and Preview buttons above the editor to switch between those panes. You can mix and match — chat for bigger changes, direct edits for quick fixes.
Here's what each kind of edit costs:
| Edit | Cost |
|---|---|
| Chat edit (AI request) | 20 credits |
| Annotation edit round (draw + comment, up to 20 notes) | 20 credits |
| AI-generated image replacement | 10 credits |
| Direct edits (text and library/upload image replacements) | Free |
| Version preview and restore | Free |
Ask for changes in chat#
- Type your request into the chat composer — "Describe a change — e.g. remove the image in the hero".
- Click the arrow button or press ⌘ Enter to send.
Each chat edit costs 20 credits. As the composer hint says, the AI "Edits in place when it can" — it changes only the affected sections and keeps the rest of your design. That includes site-wide font changes: ask for "more modern fonts" and the AI swaps the heading and body typefaces across the whole site without rebuilding anything. If your request needs a structural change (like reordering the whole page or an entirely new color palette), it automatically falls back to a full rebuild, still at the 20 credits already charged. While it works you'll see a small "Updating…" spinner (or "Building your site…" for a rebuild), and when it finishes you get a summary message and a new version checkpoint.
One AI run at a time: if an edit or generation is already in progress, new requests wait until it finishes.
Annotate the page#
For pinpoint changes, draw directly on the page instead of describing where things are.
- Click the pencil-ruler button in the toolbar (Annotate & request edits).
- Draw a freehand circle over the element you want changed.
- Type your note in the popover — "What should change here?" — and click Add.
- The note stays pinned next to your circle: click into it to reword it, or click × to remove it. The remove button stays visible on a phone and appears when you hover or focus the note on desktop.
- Repeat for anything else — up to 20 notes per round.
- Click Send edits.
On a phone, the annotation overlay starts in Draw mode. Tap Scroll to move up or down the page, then switch back to Draw to add another mark.
The AI rewrites just the circled sections, and you'll see "Applied N edit(s)" when it lands. Your notes and marked-up screenshots appear as a message in the chat — click the screenshot stack to view them full size. A round costs 20 credits no matter how many notes it includes — batching several notes into one Send edits is the economical way to polish a page. Click the same toolbar button again (Done annotating) to exit without sending.
Edit text and images directly#
On a ready site, the canvas itself is editable:
- Click any text to edit it in place. Click away, press Esc, or press ⌘ Enter to save.
- Hover over an image to reveal a gray overlay with an edit icon, then click it to open the image replacement dialog.
- The Library tab opens first. Choose any image from your business's shared image library, or upload a JPEG, PNG, or WebP up to 3 MB. Choosing or uploading an image is free, and new uploads are added to the shared library for reuse elsewhere.
- In the Generate tab, describe the replacement you want and click Generate image. An AI replacement costs 10 credits. Every successful generated image is also saved to your shared image library, so you can reuse it elsewhere.
Image-library choices, uploads, and other direct edits save automatically in the background and cost nothing; only choosing Generate image spends credits. The top bar shows Editing…, Replacing…, or Saving… while a direct change is still in progress. Chat, annotation, preview, publishing, and the back-to-sites link wait until the edit is saved. The toolbar's Undo and Redo buttons step through recent direct edits from your current editor session. When you aren't typing in a text field, you can also press ⌘ Z / Ctrl Z to undo and ⌘ Shift Z / Ctrl Shift Z to redo.
Version checkpoints#
Every generation, chat edit, and annotation round leaves a version card in the chat. Click Preview this version to view that snapshot read-only — the top bar shows "Previewing version from" with the date — then click Restore this version to bring it back, or Cancel to return.
Restoring only changes your working draft. It never touches what's already live — see publishing your site.
Preview and viewports#
The toolbar viewport button cycles between desktop, tablet, and mobile widths so you can check the design at every size. To experience the page as a visitor — with working links, menus, and anchors — click Preview to open your current draft in a new tab. The preview is private to people with access to your business.
