Importing from a link
Rebuild an existing website or an Instagram profile as a brand-new Mr Create site.
Already have a presence online? Instead of describing your business from scratch, you can point Mr Create at your current website or your public Instagram profile. It reads what's there, drafts a redesign plan, and shows you the plan before anything is built or charged.
Reading and planning are free. You only spend credits — 100, the same as any full site build — when you confirm the build. If the build then fails, the credits are refunded automatically.
You can start an import from the Mr Create homepage, from any industry example page — each one ends with a box for your own address — or, where available, from the "Turn any link into a landing page" page, which takes a single box: paste an Instagram profile or a website address and it works out which one it is.
Rebuild from a website address#
You can ask for a rebuild in the same prompt box you'd describe a new site in.
- Ask for a rebuild and include your address — for example "Rebuild my current site: yoursite.com" (a bare domain is fine). The 🔁 Rebuild my site chip below the box writes that sentence for you with the address selected, so you can type yours straight over it.
- Press the arrow, or Ctrl/Cmd + Enter.
- Sign in if prompted.
You land in a new workspace showing "Reading your site…" — this usually takes 20 to 40 seconds. Mr Create reads your homepage plus your main pages (about, services, pricing, contact, and the like) and pulls out your brand name, tagline, tone of voice, and your page copy section by section, then suggests a palette and fonts to match. Your wording is preserved as written — the rebuild upgrades the design, not your words.
Your address works with or without www., and with or without https://. Send it on its own and it's read as a rebuild without any wording at all. Paste a link to an inside page and Mr Create still reads the whole site, that page included.
Three ways to ask, all of which work: send the address on its own, use a word like "rebuild", "redesign" or "import", or put it straight after "for", "from" or "of" — "build me a site for beanmarket.co".
An address mentioned in passing is left alone. "A landing page for my cafe, we're at beanmarket.co" builds a new site, because nothing in it asks for a rebuild, and a link held up as inspiration ("make it look like stripe.com") is ignored the same way. If you name Instagram and give both a handle and a website, the profile wins.
Links to a platform we can't read yet (TikTok, Facebook, Yelp, a Google Business listing) are turned away straight away rather than half-built.
Build from Instagram#
The same prompt box builds from a public Instagram profile.
- Ask for it and include your handle — for example "Use my IG to build my site: @yourbusiness". The 📸 Use my IG to build my site chip writes that sentence for you with the handle selected. "IG", "insta" and "Instagram" all work, a profile link works in place of the handle, and sending either on its own is enough.
- Press the arrow, or Ctrl/Cmd + Enter.
- Sign in if prompted.
While the screen shows "Reading your profile…", Mr Create pulls your public profile — name, bio, category, and link in bio — plus up to twelve recent images with their captions: your photo posts, the cover frames of your Reels, and your profile picture. Those real photos are copied into your new site's imagery instead of AI placeholders, and the AI reads them for palette and style.
Each photo is placed in a different part of the page, so the same shot doesn't repeat across your hero, your about section, and your gallery. Where there aren't enough real photos to go round, the remaining imagery is generated.
Private Instagram accounts can't be imported. Only your public profile and photos are read.
Review the plan, then confirm#
When the analysis finishes, you'll see the heading "Here's the plan" with a chat summary of what was extracted and how the new page will be organized.
- Optionally, chat about the plan first — "Anything to change before I build? (name, colors, sections…)". These messages are free, and every change you request is folded into the build instructions.
- When you're ready, click Build my site — or just tell the assistant "build it".
- Confirming charges 100 credits and starts the normal build; the page hands off to the site editor.
From there it's a regular site: use Editing your site to refine it, then publish it like any other.
Your new business is named automatically from the extracted brand name — unless you've already renamed it yourself, in which case your name is kept.
If your site or profile can't be read#
If Mr Create can't read the source (for example, a private account or an unreadable page), the screen changes to "Let's set up your site" and asks you to describe your business in the chat instead. You can still build from your own description at the same 100-credit price.
Build my site stays greyed out until you've written something — with nothing read from the source, your description is the only thing there is to build from.
How many imports you can start#
Reading a source is free, so there are limits on how many you can have going at once:
- Five waiting to be built. Start a sixth and you'll see "You have too many imports waiting to be built. Finish or delete one before starting another." Confirm or delete one of the drafts you already have and you can start another.
- Ten in an hour. Past that you'll see "You've started a lot of imports in the last hour. Try again a little later."
The hourly count includes imports you've since deleted, so deleting drafts won't lift it — it clears on its own an hour after you started them.
